POPIA
Privacy, in plain language.
What this website collects, why, and who sees it.
Who is responsible
Magnolia Place Guest House, 11 Culemborg Crescent, Die Boord, Stellenbosch 7600, is the responsible party for personal information collected through this website. Questions and requests go to magnoliaplaceguesthouse@gmail.com or 021 883 8799.
Bookings
Bookings and payments are completed on NightsBridge, the reservation system the guest house uses. This website passes the chosen dates to NightsBridge and nothing else. Name, contact details and payment information are entered on NightsBridge's secure pages and are handled under its privacy policy and the guest house's booking terms.
Enquiries
The enquiry form collects a name, an email address or phone number, the message, and the dates being considered. It is emailed to reception and used only to answer that enquiry. It is not added to a mailing list.
WhatsApp, phone and email links open those apps directly; what is shared there is governed by the app being used.
The concierge
The voice and chat concierge is provided by ElevenLabs and only loads when its button is tapped. Conversations, including audio where the microphone is used, are processed and stored by ElevenLabs so the service can work and be improved. Please do not share card numbers or other sensitive details with it. Reception is always available instead.
Visitor statistics
Where statistics are enabled, the site uses Plausible, which counts page views and booking clicks without cookies, without a persistent identifier and without building a profile of any visitor. No consent banner is shown because nothing is stored on the device for tracking.
Maps and photos
The map loads tiles from OpenStreetMap and room photos load from NightsBridge's image servers. As with any web request, those servers see the device's IP address.
Your rights
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act, anyone may ask what personal information is held about them, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to its use. Requests are answered by reception at the contact details above. Complaints may also be lodged with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
